Mission

“To develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community”

The objectives of AFJROTC are to educate and train students in citizenship and life skills; promote community service; instill a sense of responsibility; and develop character and self-discipline through education and instruction in air and space fundamentals and the Air Force's core values of "Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence In All We Do."

In order to participate in our program students must first meet a few prerequisites. Cadets must be a student in good standing at Alamogordo High School; be of good moral character; and be physically able to participate in the wellness education program, as well as participate in AFJROTC training.  Title 10 United States’ Code and DoD Instructions limit JROTC membership to those who maintain acceptable standards of academic achievement and conduct.

Organization

Our corps is led by our cadets; together as a team our staff must plan and execute any events held by the unit. The chart shown below is how our unit is organized and the positions that any cadet can apply for.
