Meet the ATB Directors
David Bouma, Alamogordo High School Director
Mr. Bouma was born on September 6, 1994, as a triplet to John and Marie Bouma. Mr. Bouma grew up with his triplet brothers Stephen and Adam, as well as older brother Matthew in Alamogordo, New Mexico. While attending grade school, Mr. Bouma was inclined to continue his family's tradition by joining the band. He and his brothers started with band in 6th grade at Mountain View Middle School, where they then continued to pursue music at Alamogordo High School between the years 2009 and 2013. During his time at AHS, Mr. Bouma received many awards, including multiple Honors at Solo and Ensemble festivals and the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award for musical achievement. Mr. Bouma graduated from AHS in May of 2013 where he then decided to pursue a degree in Music Education from New Mexico State University. While at NMSU, Mr. Bouma was a part of Dr. Allen Kaplan's Low Brass studio (2013-2018), the Pride of New Mexico Marching Band (2013-2016), the Roadrunner Revue (2015-2016), the NMSU Symphonic Band (2013-2014, 2017), the NMSU Wind Symphony (2015-2018), NMSU Jazz 2 (2013), and NMSU Jazz 1 (2014-2018).
