Bio:
Mr. Jackson became the Assistant Band Director for the 2021-2022 school year. Two years later in the Fall of 2023, Mr. Jackson was promoted to be the Head Band Director and accepted the additional role as the Alamogordo Public Schools Music Coordinator. Mr. Jackson currently teaches the Alamogordo Tiger Band, Alamogordo Tiger Jazz Band, and serves as head designer for the Alamogordo Tiger Percussion Ensemble, Colorguard, and Winterguard. As an extension of his role as APS Music Coordinator, Mr. Jackson regularly assists the Holloman, Chaparral, and Mountain View Middle School Music programs and gives oversight over the numerous elementary school music programs.
When Mr. Jackson is not at APS, he can be seen performing as an enlisted soldier of the 44th Army Band of the New Mexico Army National Guard. In this ensemble, Mr. Jackson has performed for the Governor of New Mexico, local and state representatives, active duty Generals, and in many communities across the state and the region. An avid member and fan of the performing arts, Mr. Jackson has performed across the country, in many NFL stadiums (such as formerly San Diego Chargers, Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons, and Indianapolis Colts), and given concerts in many major universities and music colleges in the region. Mr. Jackson's favorite hobbies include cooking, working on their cars and motorcycles, and taking their dogs on walks in nature.
