Please be aware that Alamogordo High School was in a temporary shelter-in-place this morning due to an unconfirmed report. After a thorough investigation in collaboration with local law enforcement, the report was found unsubstantiated. Alamogordo Public Schools is committed to transparency and maintaining a safe environment for all students and staff. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement and take all necessary precautions in response to any situation that may arise. These kits will be used in beginning welding courses, allowing students to practice and learn basic welding skills. 🧰 Kits will also be introduced to middle school students to excite them about the Welding program. 😎 After the board meeting, attendees and board members had the chance to try the welding kits. 📣Congratulations to the TeachOtero grant recipients! 😍 Last May, the Sacramento Mountains Foundation accepted applications for the TeachOtero Grant. If students are not in compliance, they will be escorted to the school nurse's office. Policy J-5350 JLCD (for High School Requirements) states: High school students may carry medications in the following situations... • They do not require supervision to take their medication(s) NOTE: Those students who do require supervision/monitoring will follow the procedures for Elementary and Middle School Students. •The medication is not a controlled drug, such as Ritalin, codeine, morphine, etc. •The medication is in the original container, which has a legible, professional label. •The student carries no more than two doses in the container. •Parents/guardians should be aware of students carrying medication.
