Please be aware that Alamogordo High School was in a temporary shelter-in-place this morning due to an unconfirmed report. After a thorough investigation in collaboration with local law enforcement, the report was found unsubstantiated. Alamogordo Public Schools is committed to transparency and maintaining a safe environment for all students and staff. #itsagreatdayintigercountry 🎉At this week's Regular Board Meeting, Deputy Superintendent Steven Starkovich presented the six new Virtual Welding kits the Career & Technical Education program recently received. These kits will be used in beginning welding courses, allowing students to practice and learn basic welding skills. 🧰 Kits will also be introduced to middle school students to excite them about the Welding program. 😎 After the board meeting, attendees and board members had the chance to try the welding kits. 📣Congratulations to the TeachOtero grant recipients! 😍 Last May, the Sacramento Mountains Foundation accepted applications for the TeachOtero Grant. The incentive was up to $1,000 in grants to Otero County Public & Private Schools teachers. 😄 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫Great news!!! AHS received 6 grants! In total, APS was awarded 19 grants!
